I'm looking for a way to optimise memory in a cp1l plc as I have run out of steps (UM) memory to fit my program.
I have heaps of fb memory as im not using many function blocks am I able to trade on for the other to fit a bigger user program in some how?
Will coding in function blocks reduce the amount of steps in the program as from a quick play FB use steps when they are posted in the user program but I don't know which is less memory hungry it seems fb actually consume more memory.

I have a NT31C-142B-EV2 hmi and I am trying to connect it to a CJM1-CPU11 plc. When I try to use the NTLink option in CX- integrator the only HMI it will let you insert is NS HMI's. I am trying the port b on the touch screen and the serial port on the CJ unit. My questiin is, is it possible to use a NT31 hmi with a CJ1m plc. If so what software do I use to accomplish this.

I have an Omron CQM1-CPU41-V1 and a NT30C HMI. I would like to replace the NT30C with a Proface GP4301-TM.
The Proface HMI software (GP-Pro EX) has a Omron driver to communicate with the CQM1. I’ve followed the directions provided from Proface for setting up the communications in the CQM1 and the GP4301.
I also create the special cable that needs to go from the RS232 ports on the CQM1 and the GP4301.
I’m getting either a cable is disconnected or response timed out error from the GP4301.
I’ve tried various communications settings to no avail.
The last thing I’ve done is to run the RS232 cable from the NT30C into my PC and forward it out of my PC to the CQM1 using a piece of software call Termite.
What this does for me is to see what is being sent on the RS232 line.The 1st code sent from the NT30C to the CQM1 is @00MM40 (in ASCII), the CQM1 responses and they both work fine together.
When I connect up the GP4301 in this fashion the 1st code sent out from it is @00MS5E (in ASCII). As you can see these are different and the CQM1 does not response.
Does anyone have ideas on how to get the correct code out of the GP4301?

I currently have Omron CP1E-N40DR & HMI GP4301TAD (proface), but already last one week I am confused to communicate both devices ...
I'm sure this is not a problem with cable communications because I made it according to the pins in the manual.

I have a problem with CJ1W-DRM21 module with an error E0. the NS led is off and the MS led is green. the power supply on the devicenet network is ok.
Could it be a problem of The DRS1-T Terminal Block ?
I currently have multiple brands and suites of PLC software on one laptop and they don't play nice with each other. I have everything but Sysmac Studio on there; haven't installed it yet.
I just got a new laptop with a good processor and 64gb of ram, running VMWare. I'm going to segregate my PLC softwares into different VMs by brand, or by suite if necessary.
So is it a good idea to install Sysmac Studio in the same VM with CX-one? Or should I give it its own VM? And while we're on the topic, are there any other Omron softwares that might conflict with other Omron software?

I have this problem that has been bothering me for months.
I have a DRT1-AD04H connected to C200hw-drm21 as a master.
The signal to the drt is 4-20 ma which is fed from a conductivity sensor. I checked the signal and at the output of the sensor and the input of the DRT1 and it is ok. It changes according to the changes in the process. I am also able to force the output signal of the conductivity sensor.
My problem is that the reading on the IR Memory is showing maximum reading with some variations always. The bit 15 changes to 1 when I remove the sensor from the process which should be 4 mA. But I haven't tried to force 4 mA.
I have tried to replace by DRT2-AD04H but no luck. The only change was that it always show maximum reading with no variations and no matter what I do.
I have checked the broken wires LED "not led for my input" and the PIN settings. I'm not using a software configrator. I also checked the terminal resistor. Also there are no NS or MS errors. I'm sure I'm checking the right address because I'm monitoring the change from SCADA and the PLC memory as well.
Hi guys. I have a problem with sending e-mails thru ETN21 module. I read couple of discussions in the forum but couldn't solve the issue. I'm using CS1G-H plc with CS1W-ETN21 card. This module hooked up to ethernet switch hub that also connected to main network. I am able to go online with the PLC at my desk thru main network. I don't know how to setup the DNS,SMTP and POP for sending e-mails. Also attached my mail server info and ETN21 module settings.

I have a customer asking me about a problem on their Omron screen. I'm sure that it is nothing to do with our programme on it more that they are trying to do something with the screen or even CPU outside of our programmes.
The full message line I can see from the screen shot is:
Date/time stamp (at start), HddBcupExec,Level???,Err=70, Permission denied
The ??? are characters that I can not make out
I have no knowledge of these but even to my untrained eye I guess that Hdd bit is essentially Hard Disk Drive, so they are trying to write to the disk?
Customer reports " the fault was generated on panel first time yesterday and today too on first morning when turn-on the machine"

i'm issue to do communication CP1E with PC via RS232.
im try to use plc for sending information and receive by hyperterminal pc.
after googling some information there have multiway to success. by the way until now cannot settle.
please expert share completed setup that's work:
1. communication cable from PLC - PC (my information use pin (2,3,9 jumper 4&5) - (2,3,5 jumper 7&8)
2. sample program that works (im using TXD & RXD with memory D1000 to keep data)
3. connection cable to PC using MOXA Serial to USB converter.
4. plc serial setting (default: 9600,7,N,1,Host link)
my target to give instruction to printer to start print. printer need ACSII code. if this communication success i'm will convert all data to ACSII by ACSII convert function.

Hi Everyone..I'm having hard time to read Analog Sensor. I've try to read the manuals about expansion module, but still having hard time to understand it.
My PLC is CP1E-N30DR-A connect with Expansion CP1W-MAD44 and I'm trying to connect with pressure sensor Omron E8F2-B10C that in a certain pressure will trigger to open a Digital Valve.
is there something wrong with my setting for range? I do the setting in 4-20mA (0-5V)
I attached my Program and Picture while running, the program is only for reading the pressure sensor. the result is -600 to +600, is there a way to earn the actual result?
I've tried Scaling and APR, But didn't understand, is there a guide/tutorial for it as well?

Good day This is the 1st time I work with Omron PLC, I have one machine operating with Omron sysmac cj2m cpu 31. The PLC has error code on it's 7-segemnt : ( HE ) I checked this error code in manual and I found these information in attachment and they write check the operating environment as a correction for this error code but I do not know what they mean can you help me please in this problem thanks. |
