Dear Expert,

i'm issue to do communication CP1E with PC via RS232.

im try to use plc for sending information and receive by hyperterminal pc.

after googling some information there have multiway to success. by the way until now cannot settle.

please expert share completed setup that's work:

1. communication cable from PLC - PC (my information use pin (2,3,9 jumper 4&5) - (2,3,5 jumper 7&8)

2. sample program that works (im using TXD & RXD with memory D1000 to keep data)

3. connection cable to PC using MOXA Serial to USB converter.

4. plc serial setting (default: 9600,7,N,1,Host link)

my target to give instruction to printer to start print. printer need ACSII code. if this communication success i'm will convert all data to ACSII by ACSII convert function.

Hi all,

I am fairly new to PLC programming, and just have a simple program regarding an unlatching input. In the picture below, I have STARTCOIL going to the set instruction for a single acting cylinder, LOCATOR_F. My problem is that once the STARTCOIL is actuated, it stays on, and I cannnot use the RSET instruction on LOCATOR_F.

How would I modify the program to make the STARTCOIL pulse once to set the  SET bit, but after that, there is no powerflow through STARTCOIL. In short, I'd like to stimulate a non-latching push button.

I would appreciate any help.

Ok, so this is my first time using RS232 communications, I have a CJ1G-CPU42H and I am trying to learn from the "CS/CJ series Instructions Reference Manual" how to use them before I throw them into a program. What I am having problems with though is getting it to do anything. I am starting with a basic program that is only 2 lines:                      _______ ----| |-------------| TXD   |     0.00            | D0001 |   (474F in memory twice. MSB first)                     |  &4   |                     |_______|                      _______ ----| |-------------| RXD   |     P_On            | D0101 |                     | D0100 |                     |  &4   |                     |_______| I am trying to talk to a program written in VB that is used to verify communictaions with other things in the facility, and its set on COM2 9600,E,7,2 because I have the dip switch #5 set to ON (which if I understand correctly makes the PLC talk at this pattern) The cable I am using to go between the PC and the PLC is one made based on the drawing in a manual downloaded from oeiweb.omron.com. Hopefully I have given enough information and its just a simple mistake that I am missing.

I have created SCADA application in CX-Supervisor 1.25 which connects to CJ1M-CPU11 with Ethernet unit ETN21 built in CPU unit. customer wanted to connect SCADA on laptop computer with PLC direct, without the ethernet switch. this works well. but now, they want an option to connect PLC and laptop computer to ethernet switch in the office. since PLC's ip address 172.25.0.200 is fixed, if their ethernet network is different this won't work. Now, there is a way to change PLC's ip address through SCADA runtime (right click, chose I/O table) and that changes are saved in the PLC. also there is a way to change host PLC settings from SCADA runtime (network configuration tool) but those changes can't be saved. with every new start of SCADA application host PLC settings are like those defined in development project. maybe someone know the solution, how can I change the host PLC communication settings from runtime project and save it within the runtime project? thanks in advance.

Hi,

I am using a CJ2H PLC.

I am looking for a way to index string [10] and also be able to do a look up.

What I am wanting to do is - Add a new Magazine ID into E6_00[10] and add that magazine weight into E7_00[10]. I will be using upto E6_9999 and E7_9999.

If that Magazine ID is already in the table, I want to be able to find that Magazine ID and compare the weight with the previous weight within the table.

Dear colleagues,

could you please give a tip

need to exchange CQM1-ID213 to CJ1W-IDxx. CQM1-DI213 has a frontal connector, and, respectively, in the existing installaition the Omron extension cable and terminal board are used (can't identify the part numbers, unfortunately, pls see the picture). Is it possible to select a CJ1W-IDxx module with the same frontal connector as CQM1-ID213 has, so I could leave old Omron cable and terminal board (to avoid rewiring). CJ1W-IDxx has options of MIL or Fijitsu connector. Which one is directly exchangeable with CQM1-ID213 connector?

I downloaded NQ-Designer 1.2 I set COM1 in NQ5 to regular hostlink and downloaded to NQ5. I uploaded to check if parameters are OK: I set CP1E as below, after uploading it looks like: I prepared cable and NO CONNECTION It should be so simple. I tried with COM2 the same - no connection ; I tested ports in NQ without loopback - looks OK The problem is that I do not see flashing COMM LED on RS232 Built-in port in CP1E - just from time to time but when I start NQ5 every time I have - check power and cable - no connection. What I can do more?... Thanks for clue

Hi, I bought a NV3W display to connect to my CP1L. I would like to know if someone have the programmation cable pinout? Cable between PC and NV... One end is DB9 (PC) and other end, is a miniDIN 5pin (MD-50 CUI inc.) The part number Omron is NV-TOL-3M. thanks, Gagd03

Hello admin, Im new to PLC domain , i have one OMRON CP1E N30 with in built RS 232 port and ladder program to run in Homing and forward and reverse motion. I want to control the PLC from a computer using RS 232 communication. From what little i read from manual supplied for programming ,i came to know that there are two type of commands C mode as well as Fins commands. My doubt is whether these commands can read/write CIO memory addresses that are used to set and reset the motor enable/disable in ladder program through CX programmer software? for example: in my ladder program CIO memory address 30.00 is the motor enable/disable address so if i want to control externally from a PC to enable/disable the motor ,which commands should i use and is there a format to send these commands as well as the value. I am planning to build a GUI in Labview to cotrol the PLC via Serial RS 232 . How can i do it ? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I got old Omron PLC Sysmac Mini SK20 from my place of work but connection cable between PLC and PC is missing. The original cable is SP10-CIF01 Interface Cable but I'll like to make my own if it's possible. So if anyone have schematic how to make cable I'm very pleased. Thanks for help.

Hi,

    I'm trying to communicate Omron CP1E unit with PC via serial port using hostlink protocol.  I need to read the Timer/Counter SV value and write the timer/counter SV values to the PLC.  I'm able to use other C mode commands (like RC (timer/counter PV read), WC (timer/counter PV write) etc.) but when I give the command for Timer/Counter SV Read 1 which is R#, I get the response as IC (Undefined Command).   How do I write or read the timer SV Values? 

Example command and response :

@00R#TIMH001028*  (TIMH is the high speed timer, 0010 is the timer number and 28 is the FCS)

Response:

@00IC4A*

Is is that CP1E doesn't support these commands? If so what is the equivalent command that I should send inorder to perform this?

Please help.

Hi all.

I have two sam modules CS1W-AD081-V1, I set inputs Enable range 1-5V/4-20mA.

For One Ihave RUN lit green, ERC not lit, Input disconnection detection is set No detection.

For second module RUN lit, ERC lit red, Input disconnection detection is set to Detection.

How to chage this settings?

I want to have Detection on. I also try to se CIO bit to ON but can not,
